Dan, Paul and Matt met at a band jam session in July 2004 and formed “THE SWAMIS”– a unique three piece acoustic rock band based in Buckingham.

The Swamis write and compose all their own material and have a current repertoire of 50 + original and very diverse songs. They have recorded five CDs and a live 16 track CD/DVD, which generally sell out at their gigs

Recording is secondary to the band’s live performances which are full of energy and passion. In the past eighteen months The Swamis have played over 150 gigs, wowing audiences in Aylesbury, Bedford, Birmingham, Brighton, Buckingham, Cambridge, Cardiff, Dunstable, High Wycombe, Hitchin, Leicester, LONDON, Luton, Milton Keynes, Northampton and Oxford. They are probably the only unsigned band to have played in two capital cities, in two countries on two consecutive nights!

London venues they have played recently include Sound (Leicester Square), Cuban (Camden), Punk (Soho), Purple Turtle (Camden), Bullet Bar (Camden), Hope & Anchor (Islington) and Bar Music Hall (Shoreditch), The Dublin Castle (Camden), and Effra (Lewisham).

2005 was a busy year for The Swamis, with an ever increasing demand from an ever-growing fan base. Highlights included playing at the Guilfest Festival and the Silverstone Grand Prix.

2006 - The Swamis took part in the Emergenza Unsigned Bands Competition; successfully coming first in the London heats and finishing second in the UK final at the London Astoria.  In October The Swamis featured on the BBC 3CR “Big George’s Business of Sound” radio programme performing live and unplugged in the studio. Presenter, George Webley, said that from over 1500 demo CDs received from unsigned bands, The Swamis were “light years beyond the others and head and shoulders above anything in the charts”.

2007 - The Swamis were busier than ever. As well as playing an ever widening gig circuit they performed at festivals including Cardiff Xfm 24, Rhythms of the World (Hitchin), Triangle Fest (Hitchin), Park Life Fest (Milton Keynes) and they still found the time to record their 4th CD.

2008 - The Swamis continue to play wherever good live music is appreciated and they released their latest CD July.
